Infrared light emitting diodes (ir) are made of high infrared radiation efficiency materials (commonly used gallium arsenide GaAs) to produce PN junction, plus forward bias to inject current into PN junction to stimulate infrared light.The spectral power distribution is 830 ~ 950nm of central wavelength, and the half-peak bandwidth is about 40nm.Its greatest advantage is that it can be completely free of red storms (using 940 ~ 950nm wavelength infrared tubes) or only weak red storms (red storms with visible red light), thus extending service life.Light is an electromagnetic wave whose wavelength ranges from a few nanometres (1nm=10-9m) to about a millimeter (mm).The human eye can see only part of it. We call it visible light. The wavelength range of visible light is 380nm ~ 780nm.
